DESCRIPTION:We are so happy to be able to be back at Cochrane Alliance Church again this year!  Please come and celebrate the season with New West Symphony & Chorus\, as we perform a variety of wonderful music from our Christmas and regular repertoires. \nYou’ll want to come early to this free concert\, as seats are limited. \nNew West invites our concert guests to join us in “giving back” to our community by bringing single-serving sized packages of hot beverages\, such as hot chocolate\, apple cider\, and instant coffee.  These packages will help fill gift bags that will be given to our guests at our New West Gifts Back: Sharing Christmas Joy event.  An opportunity to sponsor individuals and families facing financial barriers to attend this Christmas event will also be given.  Learn more about this exciting community initiative and how you can help us make it happen. \n \n

SUMMARY:Christmas with New West
DESCRIPTION:Come and celebrate the Christmas season with New West Symphony & Chorus and New West Student Ensemble at our annual presentation of Christmas with New West.  This concert will feature Christmas music from a wide variety of musical genres including classical\, gospel\, contemporary and traditional Christmas carols that will surely be a source of hope and joy for guests of all ages. \nCalgary’s New West Symphony & Chorus\, a community-based choir and orchestra directed by Henric Ideström\, has been encouraging and entertaining their audiences since 2010.  New West’s Student Ensemble\, under the direction of David Klob\, is a dynamic youth choir and orchestra for students in Grades 7 through 12 that launched in September 2021. \nAdult tickets range in price from $35 to $40\, and this year New West is offering discounted tickets for youth 17 years and under.  Christmas with New West has sold out in past years\, so don’t wait to purchase your tickets for this year’s seasonal celebration of hope\, love and joy! \nTickets are available through the Arts Commons website starting November 12 (with a “Friend of New West” early-access code) and on November 14 for the general public. \nDon’t miss this popular Christmas celebration that has become a holiday tradition for many.  Invite your family and friends to join you in celebrating the wonders of the season with New West Symphony & Chorus and New West Student Ensemble at Christmas with New West! \n  \nDo you know that New West is hosting a unique concert event at the Jack Singer Concert Hall the day after Christmas with New West\, specifically for individuals and families in our community who are currently experiencing financial stress?  Through partnerships with many social-service organizations in our community\, people are being provided tickets to New West Gifts Back: Sharing Christmas Joy.  \nLearn more about New West Gifts Back: Sharing Christmas Joy. \nTo sponsor an individual guest ($25.00) or a family ($100)\, or a larger group\, we invite you to make a donation via e-transfer to funds@newwestsociety.com (please include your name\, address and “Share Joy” in your message)\, or give through our secure CanadaHelps donation page. \n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:New West Gifts Back: Sharing Christmas Joy
DESCRIPTION:Christmas with New West\, our annual Christmas concert\, has become a special holiday tradition for many people…  The familiar carols\, the lyrics that remind us of hope or conjure up fond childhood memories\, the beauty of the Jack Singer… all these combined create a unique joy… the JOY of Christmas. \nNew West Gifts Back: Sharing Christmas Joy is our way of sharing this JOY with people in need… within the context of our mission of showing love to people through our music\, by creating community\, and through giving to others with a heart of compassion. \nThis concert\, featuring performances by New West Symphony & Chorus and New West Student Ensemble\, is being offered to our invited guests at no charge.  But we’re hoping that New West Gifts Back will be more than just a concert.  In thinking about how we can truly share Christmas Joy with others\, we are trying to plan an event that allows our guest to create good memories\, feel loved\, and experience hope.  We are filling gift-bags with gift cards\, games\, toys and treats so our guests can go home with a little something special from the New West Community\, lovingly gifted by members and supporters. \nIt is our goal for at least 800 guests have the opportunity to attend New West Gifts Back.  We’ve reached out to local organizations who work with individuals and families who are experiencing financial barriers – asking them to extend invitations to their clients.  We’re thrilled that\, so far\, about 10 agencies have collectively asked for almost 600 guest tickets. \nOur growing list of partnering agencies include the Calgary Pregnancy Care Centre\, Kids Up Front\, The Immigrant Education Society\, Emma House\, Inn From the Cold\, the Children’s Cottage\, and the Sonshine Centre. \nWe’re inviting individuals and businesses and small groups to help us Share Christmas JOY with our New West Gifts Back guests.  Sponsoring one guest to attend New West Gifts Back costs $25 – this includes their admission ticket and a small gift.  Would you consider giving $25 so that one person can share in our Christmas joy?  Could you give more?  Are you able to give $100 and help a family create Christmas memories at New West Gifts Back: Sharing Christmas Joy? \nGiving.  Community.  Showing love… sharing joy… this is what Christmas\, and New West Gifts Back\, is all about.  \nHere’s how you can join New West in sharing joy this Christmas: please send your gift via e-transfer to funds@newwestsociety.com (please add your name\, address and “Share Joy” in your message)\, or by donate through our secure CanadaHelps page. \n  \n\nNew West Music and Arts Society is a registered charity; charitable registration No: 801275603RR0001.
