New West’s mission is to “Bless people of all ages, leading them to experience love through music, community, and compassionate giving.”

At the heart of NEW WEST MUSIC & ARTS SOCIETY is a passionate team of members and teachers who are committed to excellence, fostering a sense of belonging, and creating environments that are both inspiring and enjoyable.

New West comprised of three distinct performance ensembles: New West Children’s Choir (for students in Grades 4-7), New West Student Ensemble (a choir and orchestra for students in Grades 8-12), and New West Symphony & Chorus (an adult choir and orchestra).  In addition to these vibrant performance groups, New West Music Academy offers a variety of lessons for beginners and seasoned musicians of all ages.

As a charitable organization, New West deeply believes in using our platform to uplift and support those facing life’s toughest challenges. Through our “Sharing Joy” initiatives, we actively seek to bring hope, encouragement, and joy to those in need throughout our community.

The many members of New West Symphony & Chorus, New West Student Ensemble and the staff of New West Music Academy are grateful to be able to teach, rehearse, perform and bless others with our music on the traditional territories of the Blackfoot Confederacy (Siksika, Kainai, Piikani), the Tsuut’ina, the Iyarhe Nakoda Nations, and the Metis Nation who call Treaty 7 home.  We desire to build a strong, collaborative community with all people who live, work, and play within the Treaty 7 region of Southern Alberta.
